At 52, after years of psychotherapy, psychiatry and various doctor-prescribed meds, I was diagnosed with ADHD. What a relief!
So much became clear—my brain was wired differently. This was the reason I often felt overwhelmed or painfully bored. There was an explanation for my impulsivity and lack of focus. And for feeling misunderstood and judged.
Learning about how to move out of the chaos, develop self compassion and create a more fulfilling life was transformative. In just one year I felt better understood and more supported than during five years of backward-looking (and expensive) therapy. My coach helped me move forward with my unique brain and strengths.
I love to laugh and am somewhat irreverent. I yearn to travel and experience new environments. I speak fluent French.
I am a native New Yorker now living in Providence, Rhode Island, with my husband, son and dog Miko.
I earned a BA in Foreign Affairs from American University. After graduation, working desk jobs in a law firm and advertising agency did not satisfy my creative itch. Learning to cook at Peter Kumps New York Cooking school and becoming a chef did the trick!
A couple of restaurants and catering agencies later, I moved to Paris where I was a translator and chef’s assistant at the Ecole Culinaire Ritz Escoffier. Private cheffing in New York ensued. My final stop as a professional in the culinary world was at the Martha Stewart Living magazine and TV show where I happily developed recipes and styled food.
During the next chapter I co-parented 3 children while volunteering in preservation and with the incarcerated. My husband’s job took us to Hong Kong where I tutored Chinese teens, volunteered building homes in the Philippines and traveled a lot!
In THIS chapter I am an ADDCA trained and certified coach. I love this job and am here for you.
